Providing parents with evidenced based information to help them feel confident in the choices they make.

Hi, I'm Jo-Anne

Paediatric Sleep Consultant, NNEB Nursery Nurse and Maternity Nurse. Mum of 3 (now aged 11, 19 and 21).

Thank you for visiting my website. You may have found me whilst looking for a baby sleep consultant so let me tell you a little bit about me and how I can help you…

I don’t consider myself just a sleep coach. My extensive understanding and knowledge of babies and children means that I can holistically support families.

My mother owned and worked in our children nurseries’ throughout my life and as I grew up I would visit every day after school and I would help. I would regularly babysit and nanny for many of the families. Eventually, I trained in Management and Personnel, but the pull back to working with children was too great. So, in my mid-twenties I retrained and began my new life, working with babies, children and their families. Firstly, as a Nursery Nurse / Nanny, then as a Sleep consultant.

As a sleep consultant, it would be easy to assume my children sleep well every night, but, like all parents, I’ve had my fair share of sleepless nights. As a mum of three, I vividly remember the joy of those early years – but I also remember times coloured by tiredness, stress and anxiety.

I have learned how important it is to understand how unique every child is. All of my children have very individual personalities and had very different sleep issues – so for each of them, I had to find different approaches to encourage their sleep, without ever resorting to ‘cry – it -out ‘. At this time, I would have loved to have reached out for someone’s help.

Now I have taken all of this experience and knowledge with me to work. There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to parenting, nor to sleep. I work with each child and family individually, to help find the solution that works best for them.

My Qualifications

My role is to always listen to you and support your family towards better sleep. Together I will help identify your needs or concerns empowering you to feel like a confident parent. I have spent the past 22 years working with babies and children, and now I provide families with the best evidenced-based information so that they can go forth and make the choices that suit them and their baby.

I am a proud member of the Association of Professional Sleep Consultants who recognise my expertise and abilities through their membership and a member of the IPSA where I continue to learn about the latest news regarding paediatric sleep. All this has equipped me with the tools and the knowledge to help support you and build upon your strengths through the early years.
